Thursday the 12th. Escorted shore dive for a group of newly qualified “young” divers.
We travelled out to Praia do Lago, a small lagoon tucked in the ria of Aldan.
It didn’t take long to get kitted up under the trees, a good job really as the sun was shining and the air temp was around 26C. A short walk across the soft sand and down the to the water.
The first few yards of sandy bottom give way to rocks boulders and channels full of different kinds of seaweed; we call this dive the garden! The usual suspects where present: octopus, wrasse and shoals of fry an occasional flash of silver as sea bass break through the gaps to snatch a mouthful!
Unusually we saw a number of eels, probably taking refuge on their way up the Ria and the rivers beyond. This is a good place to find seahorses, but not today.
We dropped down to 5msw to collect some “mother of pearl” great ormer shells.
Then time was up, it always amazes me how quickly time flies at the garden!

Saturday 14th A non diving trip to the Cies Islands and pic nic on the Praia de Rodes.

Friday 20th June Shore dive around Isla Santa Clementina or Isla Santo.

Beautiful sunny afternoon dive, leaving the beach we swam over to the island and started a shallow dive around the various rocks. A wide varierty of plants, and fish.

On the return to shore we came across a huge Gunard, massive, he stood his ground and showed off his size. Got back to shore and went for a well earned cafe con leche !! Brilliant afternoon.
